The festival of saying something bad thing (Akutai Matsuri)

Mt. Oiwa Bishamonten that is known as one of Japan's three major Bishamontens as well as Mt. kurama (kyoto) and Mt. Shigi (Nara), holds "Akutai (saying something bad) Festival" from New Year's Eve to New Year's Day every year.
This festival is known as one of the strange festivals of Japan since Edo period and there is a wish that everyone can greet the refreshed new year by relieving everyone`s pent-up feelings and misfortune that have accumulated in a year.
On the day of the event, there is also a "a loud voice competition (free of charge)" to compete for how much loud voices they can make.
After the "Akutai Festival" is over, "Taki Nagashi" ceremony is held.
