Ajisai (hydrangea) Benten Festival

Kichijouji is a temple that was founded by Ashikaga 5th Mr. Yoriuji Ashikaga during the Koucho period (1261-63).

1,500 strains of hydrangea are in full bloom on the southern slope of the temple.
It is known as "hydrangea temple" by the citizens.
